Containing the Spirits
A Student Project

Tasked with designing original spirit packaging, I chose absinthe, an anise-flavored spirit derived from the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium.

Inspired by the name of the plant, using the story of Actaeon and Artemis.

In collaboration with a photographer and an editor, I created the image for this LEGO puzzle. I assembled each LEGO piece pictured, arranged them, drafted compositions and presented them to our design team until a final design was settled. Then participated in the final photoshoot and corresponded with the editor on textural and background aspects.

Studio Ghibli Artist Sketchbook Series

I had the pleasure of working with Studio Ghibli through Chronicle Books on their artist sketchbook series, selecting stills from their films to illustrate line work for the covers and create custom patterns for the end sheets

A selection of covers created for Chronicle Books as a design fellow and freelancer

For my contributions to the Chronicle Books After Dinner Amusements and On the Go Amusements series, I chose color palettes, created icons and patterns, and applied them to external packaging as well as the card deck and instructional guide within, using templates to create the marketing images.

In collaboration with illustrator Sally Nixon, I helped to create the color palette, style, and layout for these puzzle boxes. Designed to evoke classic VHS boxes, the guide book included inside is modeled after a TV Guide pamphlet.
